Mercy College's motto "Love in Action" is based on the personal understanding of what 'Mercy' meant to Sister Catherine McAuley and the Sisters of Mercy.
The staff and I would like to extend a very special welcome to you and your family to Mercy College. We very much look forward to working with you collaboratively this year and in the years ahead.
I am delighted to be the new Principal of a vibrant, inclusive, and affordable Catholic co-educational College, welcoming over 1600 students from Kindergarten to Year 12. Inspired by the charism of Catherine McAuley and the legacy of the Sisters of Mercy, Mercy College works in close partnership with Father Sam and Our Lady of Mercy Parish, and our Mercy families to continue to bring the vision of Catherine to life in this very special 180 Year Anniversary, since the arrival of the First Sisters of Mercy in WA.
Mercy College is guided by a Christ-centred ethos and grounded in Gospel values and the spirit of mercy and is committed to delivering a holistic and faith-filled education that nurtures the whole person. At the heart of the College is a deep commitment to recognising, nurturing, and celebrating the unique gifts of each individual. This commitment is beautifully expressed in the words of Catherine McAuley: “Strive to do ordinary things extraordinarily well.” These words shape the daily life of the College and inspire both students and staff to approach learning, relationships, and service with purpose, compassion, and excellence.
The College’s Vision for Learning, ‘Inspiring Futures Together’, is underpinned by the pedagogical pillars of Connection, Commitment and Discovery and strives to encourage everyone to pursue excellence in all aspects of their educational journey. The College Capital Development is informed by a comprehensive Masterplan that seeks to improve the learning spaces for staff, students and families. The campus also features expansive playing fields and open green spaces with modern play equipment, providing a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment.
