LEARNING
Vision for Learning
At Mercy College, our Vision for Learning is more than a framework, it is a living expression of our Catholic identity and the enduring mission of Catherine McAuley and the Sisters of Mercy.
Christ-centred and child-focussed, it is deeply rooted in the Catholic faith tradition. Our approach to learning is inspired by Catherine’s unwavering commitment to compassion, justice, and the transformative power of education. Her belief that “We should be shining lamps, giving light to all around us” continues to guide our purpose today.
Our Vision for Learning is shaped by three key aspirations: Connection, Commitment and Discovery. These pillars reflect our commitment to nurturing learners who are relational, reflective, empowered, and equipped to lead with integrity in an ever-changing world. In alignment with the Catholic Education Western Australia’s Vision for Learning, we strive to create inclusive, innovative, and high-impact learning environments that honour the dignity of every student.
In a contemporary context, this means embracing best practice, leveraging technology, fostering critical and creative thinking, and cultivating global citizenship. Our mantra, “Inspiring Futures, Together,” captures our collective mission: to walk alongside our students, families, and community as we shape a future grounded in faith, learning, and service.
As we look ahead, we remain committed to ensuring that every learner is not only prepared for the world they will enter but inspired to transform it, just as Catherine McAuley did.
